Helena Minginowicz’s recent work speaks to me through its use of paper towels as a painting surface. The texture blurs and softens the imagery, creating surreal scenes that feel both emotive and ephemeral, as though they exist somewhere between memory and disappearance. How might the use of unconventional materials transform not only the appearance of a work, but also the emotions and meanings we attach to it?
