For whatever reason, this one hits me even harder than Whitney’s version. Maybe because I know Dolly wrote it as a farewell to her longtime manager. Endings of relationships just kill me. And then the fact that Dolly said she almost crashed her car listening to Whitney’s version because she thought it was so amazing. I just cry every time.
