If you grew up a massive MJ fan and enjoy collective effervescence then do yourself a favor and see Michael in theaters. It’s totally a joy to watch with other fans who’ve dressed up, and everyone sings and dances in their seats! Jafar Jackson is so convincing that it felt like watching the real Michael on screen! It’s very clear that the family is heavily involved because it does not at all show a holistic view of his allegations or the darker side of Michael. But I was so invested in Jafar’s performance and all the songs and their take on concert footage. Calling it a biopic is not accurate but boy was it fun to see in a theater.
